For more than 20 years, evangelist Greg Laurie has preached the gospel around the world through his Harvest Crusades.
Now, he's trying something new, using the Internet to let people across America take part in his annual Anaheim crusade.
On Aug 26, Harvest America aims to link thousands of locations across the country for a day of worship, prayer, and evangelism.
Laurie recently spoke with CBN News Reporter Wendy Griffith about how it all works, on CBN News Channel Morning News, April 26.
"Now, with HD-quality video available through Internet streaming and satellite, people could fill churches, theaters, coffee houses, and living rooms, linking together as One Church in thousands of locations," Harvest organizers told The Christian Post.
Harvest America staff member Scot Camden indicated that so far the feedback has been positive.
"It seems that everyone we talk to understands the need for spiritual awakening in our country and is able to catch the vision for this unique outreach event," he wrote in a recent blog on Harvest's website.
"This Harvest America is about proclaiming Christ to a lost world," a woman named Melanie said on Harvest America's comments section. "I'm looking forward to hearing the gospel preached and witnessing people accept salvation in a great multitude of witnesses."
"Oh and hearing awesome music praising the one true Living Lord & Savior of the world," she added. "Blessings beyond measure!!"
