A Planned Parenthood group in California is launching a prayer campaign in support of abortion, called "40 Days of Prayer: Supporting Women Everywhere."
The campaign lists 40 different prayers for those involved in an abortion -- the mothers, their escorts, and the doctors performing the procedure.
The campaign doesn't include a prayer for the unborn baby. The Six Rivers Planned Parenthood in Eureka, Calif., said the event is "in celebration of women and reproductive rights."
But Liberty Council founder Matthew Staver said the campaign is about eugenics.
"As much as they might not like the comparison, Planned Parenthood today is no different than the eugenics promoted by its founder Margaret Sanger, who advocated the elimination of 'undesirables,' just like the most famous eugenicist, Adolph Hitler," Staver said.
Staver said the Planned Parenthood event mocks the "40 Days of Life" campaign that has rallied some half million people to pray for the unborn.
According to Staver, the pro-life campaign has saved nearly 6,000 unborn babies, brought about the closure of 22 abortion clinics, and stopped nearly 70 doctors from performing abortions.
