Evangelical leader Chuck Colson remains hospitalized after undergoing surgery over the weekend.

Colson is the founder of Prison Fellowship Ministries. The 80 year old became ill on Friday while speaking at a conference in northern Virginia.

Doctors removed a pool of clotted blood from the surface of his brain. They say he did not suffer a stroke.

Colson remains heavily sedated. A spokesperson for his ministry said he is resting comfortably.

His family is with him and appreciates prayers on his behalf.
