Pioneers of America's mission to the moon are attending a memorial service for Neil Armstrong today.

Astronauts Eugene Cernan and James Lovell joined NASA officials and the Armstrong family to remember the first man to walk on the moon.

Armstrong died this week at the age of 82.

The memorial follows the announcement of a new children's health care fund in Armstrong's honor at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

Ohio Sen. Rob Portman will deliver the eulogy.

A national memorial in Washington, DC, to honor Armstrong is planned for early September.
