A little bit of peace came to Capitol Hill Tuesday with the lighting of the Capitol Christmas Tree.
Eagle Scout Ryan Shuster flipped the switch as the crowd cheered and the band played "Oh, Christmas Tree."
House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, who hosted the festivities, said the 10,000 lights represent the "everlasting light" that entered the world with the birth of Jesus Christ.
The 73-foot tree will be lit each night until the day after Christmas.
