The massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School is the latest of many mass shootings in recent years.
From violent video games and movies to reality TV, America has been described as having a culture of violence.
At the same time, the number of guns in the country continues to soar, adding fire to the gun control debate.
Are these tragedies spurred by a culture of violence in this country or does it come down to mental health issues?
