The Christian Broadcasting Network received the National Religious Broadcasters' Milestone Award at the NRB convention in Nashville, Tenn., Tuesday.
CBN CEO and The 700 Club host Gordon Robertson accepted the award on behalf of the network.
The Milestone Award is presented to industry pioneers who helped bring Christian communications to the place it enjoys in America today.
The award was one of four the national media group presented to CBN.
"It's been an amazing journey. I'm standing in for my father. So pray for us, and God bless you and thank you, NRB," Robertson told the audience.
"For 50 years, CBN has evangelized and discipled new believers through media and also involved the faithful in humanitarian aid and relief efforts," Frank Wright, NRB president and CEO said in a statement.
"Through television and online video evangelism outreaches, as well as medical and disaster relief efforts, CBN has faithfully served as the hands and feet of Christ," he said.
For the third successive year, CBN.com received the NRB's Best Broadcast Website Award. The award recognizes a Christian radio or television station website with excellence in design and content, creative presentation, and effectiveness in helping fulfill the broadcaster's mission.
CBN's flagship program, "The 700 Club," received the NRB's Best Television Talk Show Award.
In 2011, the network celebrated the 50th anniversary of its first television broadcast.
