Some 4,600 churches worldwide plan to observe Freedom Sunday this weekend. Their goal is to raise awareness of human trafficking.
Internationally, UNICEF says as many as 2 million children are victims of sex trafficking.
In the U.S., organizations like Shared Hope International estimate that every year at least 100,000 American children become victims.
Numerous ministries and church groups around the country are taking on this tragedy in their communities.
The Regent University Center for Global Justice has been outspoken about human trafficking around the globe.
