It's not just Catholics who are worried about the Obama administration's mandate from the health care law on contraception.
The leader of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod points out that some of those contraceptives actually "kill unborn children."
"Increasingly we are suffering overzealous government intrusions into what is the realm of traditional and biblical Christian conscience. We believe this is a violation of our First Amendment rights," said Rev. Matthew Harrison, president of the Missouri Synod, in a statement issued Feb. 3.
"For centuries, Lutherans have joyfully delivered Christ's mercy to others and embraced His call to care for the needy within our communities and around the world," he said.
"In a nation that has allowed more than 54 million legal abortions since 1973, we must consider the marginalization of unborn babies and object to this mandate," Harrison added.
