Medical regulators in Kansas revoked the license of a doctor accused of giving sub par mental exams to young patients she eventually referred to the late Dr. George Tiller.
The State Board of Healing Arts decided, Friday, to strip Ann Kristin Neuhaus of her right to practice.
Neuhaus provided the second medical opinions Tiller needed to perform late-term abortions at his Wichita clinic. It was determined that in 2003 she gave inadequate mental evaluations for 11 patients, aged 10-18.
"Her actions clearly show a disregard for her patients' safety and care, which causes her to be a threat to any future patients she might have," said Reese Hays, the attorney on the board's litigation team who presented the case against Neuhaus.
After the board's decision, Neuhaus said she felt the ruling was unfair and "all about abortion rights."
"If this wasn't in the Bible Belt, I think this wouldn't even be happening," she said.
