Science fiction is set to take on animated 3-D this weekend with the release of "Prometheus" and "Madagascar 3."
The third sequel of the popular family film "Madagascar" is expected to make about $55 million opening weekend.
But "Prometheus," which follows the story of a group of explorers who want to uncover the origins of human life, may top the kiddies.
The movie is set in the same fictional universe as the 1979 sci-fi hit "Alien" and has some similarities.
Movie critic Bob Waliszewski, with Focus on the Family's Plugged In Online , offered more on what to expect from this week's new releases.
