History meets science fiction in "John Carter," the latest cinematic creation from Walt Disney.
The film tells the story of how wealthy Civil War veteran John Carter is transported to, of all places, Mars.
There, he's drawn into a war involving the planet's inhabitants, including Tars Tarkas and Princess Deha Thoris.
Plugged-In Online film critic describes the film as an "epic swashbuckler."
"It starts slowly. There's a lot of backstory to be developed before the film starts hitting on all cylinders. But once things get rolling, John Carter's heroic heart matches its lofty aspirations," he writes.
But is the Walt Disney film family-friendly? Focus on the Family film critic Bob Waliszewski reviews John Carter and other movies on the CBN News Channel's Morning News, March 16.
