The Democratic Party in Lake County, Fla., have removed an American flag featuring the face of President Obama after it sparked outrage among some of America's military veterans.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the Lake County Democratic Party had displayed the flag outside their headquarters for about two months before veterans spotted it.

Outraged, they called it a desecration of the American flag and demanded it be taken down.

"It's absolutely disrespectful," 71-year-old veteran Jim Bradford told Fox News. "It's totally ridiculous. To put somebody's picture there, to me, it's a disgrace to do that."

"If you've been a veteran and fought -- and some died for this flag -- you don't want to see it desecrated. That's how simple it is," Korean war veteran Don Van Beck told Florida television station WFTV.

Meanwhile, the chairwoman Lake County Democratic Party refused to say whether or not they would be displaying the flag again.

"I won't say no and I won't say yes," Nancy Hurlbert told Fox News. "We want to find out what our legal rights are."
