A major Hollywood studio is hoping a big weekend at the box office.
A new movie, titled "The Hunger Games," opened at midnight Thursday in theaters nationwide.
Thousands of tickets had already been sold online. Box office estimates show the film earning nearly $100 million in its first weekend alone.
The movie, based on The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins, stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.
Also opening in select theaters this weekend is a new motion picture with a pro-life message -- "October Baby."
The movie was inspired by the true story of a young girl who survives an abortion and then searches for her birth mother.
The movie stars Rachel Hendrix and John Schneider.
