A Tennessee judge has halted construction of a controversial mosque in Murfreesboro.
The judge threw out a county commission's ruling approving the construction on the grounds that the public wasn't properly notified of a planning meeting.
Controversy has surrounded the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro for years.
Opponents say Islam should not be protected under the First Amendment and that the mosque has ties to terrorists.
The judge dismissed those arguments.
Construction of the mosque is well underway and builders can seek another approval from the county commission.
