An Arizona man is making a political statement by flying his American flag upside down.
Flags are only supposed to be flown upside down to signal a state of emergency. But Jim Hart of Hereford, Ariz., said he is very worried about the re-election of President Barack Obama and believes America is heading into dire straits.
"The reason that I have my flag up there the way that it is is because I believe the country is in a state of emergency," Hart said.
The upside-down flag has upset some neighbors, including war veteran Randy Lamott, who believes it's disrespectful of the flag. Lamott said he voted for Romney, too, but it's time to move on.
"Definitely non-patriotic... go live somewhere you're not free then see what you've got. There's another way of doing things. It's called another election," Lamott said.
Hart said he is not trying to offend anyone. He's just exercising his constitutional right to free speech.
"I'm just an ordinary American who's afraid of the country going in the wrong direction. This is my way of making that statement," he said.
