A photo of a New York policeman giving a pair boots to a homeless man has gone viral.
Tourist Jennifer Foster was visiting the Big Apple from Arizona when she spotted a homeless, barefoot man on a cold winter night.
A few moments later, she snapped a picture of the officer kneeling to put socks and a pair of boots on the man's feet.
"He had boots in his hand and I heard him saying 'I have the size 12 all weather boots for you. Lets take care of you'" Foster recalled. "And the gentleman sat down against the wall, and I'm telling, you his face lit up, and he smiled."
The officer, 25-year-old Larry Deprimo, said he was moved with compassion when he saw the homeless man without socks or shoes on such a cold night.
He decided to purchase the socks and boots at a nearby Sketchers store.
The New York Police Department posted the picture on it's Facebook page. So far, it has nearly 500,000 "likes."
