A couple who run a ministry in Venice, Fla., is once again free to hold prayer meetings in their home.
City officials had fined Shane and Marlene Roessinger $250 a day for holding a weekly Bible study in their house.
The couple also runs a ministry called In Him Healing Touch Ministry, which distributes food to needy families, provides a prayer phone hotline, and supports foreign missions.
Building code inspectors said the Bible study violated a city ordinance by making their home a house of worship.
The Pacific Justice Institute helped the couple challenge the case, forcing city attorneys to reexamine the 30-year-old ordinance.
City officials then advised the code enforcement board to drop the case.
