One person's generosity toward a struggling man and his family quickly became contagious at a Target store in Oregon.
    
It all started when the man's credit card was denied. The bill was quietly paid by a stranger.

"I'm like, It's a lot. It's $161.85. And she says, That's okay. I've needed help before and I want to help them," Target cashier Debora Durall recalled.

Moved by the stranger's generosity, the family used their meager funds to pay the bill of the customer behind them.

"He looks at me [and says] 'I didn't have enough for my bill, but I have a $20 bill, and I'm going to pay that for her,'" Durall told Oregon's KATU News.

The spirit of kindness quickly spread through Durall's line, with each customer paying for the next customer in line, until the line was gone.

"The next person came through the line...I believe [it] was the two teenage girls," Duvall recalled.

"They're teenagers!" she said. "What would I would have done as a teenager? I wouldn't have thought of passing it on to the next person. But they did it."

The cashier said witnessing the good deeds of strangers will have a lasting impact on her.

"I cried all the way home and just thanked the Lord," Durall said.
