Christian singer and former "American Idol" contestant Colton Dixon has signed a record deal with Sparrow Records.
Dixon made the announcement Tuesday in a video on Twitter.
"We are extremely excited to partner with 19 Management in presenting Colton Dixon's recorded music to the world," Peter York, president of EMI CMG Label Group/Sparrow Records, said.
"His successes on American Idol exposed his vocal abilities to millions of viewers," he said. "He is a world class vocalist with passion, a mission, and a sincere depth of character."
Dixon, who stayed true to his faith on the show, has been traveling the country with the "American Idol" Live tour.
Dixon has been performing his original song, "Never Gone," on the tour. He said he is excited about releasing new music.
"I have a little over 30 songs now to pick for a record, so it's just about picking the right ones and running with them and seeing what God does with them," Dixon told CBN News.
The "American Idol" alum said he will release a new worship song called "You Are," on Oct. 19.
His album is set to be released early next year.
