September is "Welcome Back to Church" month, and Sept. 16, 2012 marks "National Back to Church Sunday."

At least 7,600 churches participated last year.

The day is meant to help churches reach out and invite unchurched people to a worship service.

LifeWay Research found that 82 percent of the unchurched are at least somewhat likely to attend church if invited.
