Obama Campaign Flag Poster Draws Criticism

President Barack Obama is coming under fire for a new campaign poster that critics say suggests he feels greater than the states represented on the American flag.

"A poster to say there are no red states or blue states, only the United States," the Obama administration tweeted Wednesday night, with a link to a photo of the poster.

The poster, titled "Our Stripes," features artwork of an altered American flag with stripes and Obama's campaign logo in the place of the 50 stars.

Opponents quickly criticized the drawing, saying the symbolism shows President Obama being greater than the people represented by the stars usually on the nation's flag.

So far, the administration hasn't responded to the poster's criticism or explained the thinking behind the design.

The flag posted was created by Ross Bruggink and Dan Olson. The campaign is selling them from its official online store for $35.
