Several bills are clearing the California assembly that pro-family groups say will take away the rights of traditional families and parents.
Among the controversial legislation is a bill that would make it legal for children to have multiple parents.
"We live in a world today where courts face the diverse circumstances that have reshaped California families," California state Sen. Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, said in a statement.
"This legislation gives courts the flexibility to protect the best interests of a child who is being supported financially and emotionally by those parents," he said.
The state assembly is also pushing a measure that would authorize nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurse mid-wives to perform abortions.
According to Save California President Randy Thomasson, such legislation seeks to undermine the family.
"Do people know what they're getting from the Democrats who control the California Legislature?" Thomasson asked. "Democrats pushing these anti-family bills in a hot election season can only mean they think voters don't care or don't know what's going on."
Thomasson talked more about the controversial bills and what Christians can do the combat them, on CBN News Channel Morning News, Sept. 4.
