TobyMac Hits No. 1 on Billboard 200 Chart

A Christian album has landed the number one spot on the Billboared 200 chart for the first time in 15 years.

Former DC Talk member Toby Mac's latest album "Eye On It" sold 69,000 copies in its first week. 

Nielsen SoundScan said sales for the album were powered by Christian retailers and bookstores. 

The last time a Christian album topped the Billboard chart was back in 1997 with LeAnn Rimes' "You Light Up My Life: Inspirational Songs."
    
"Eye on It" is only the third Christian album to ever hit number one on the U.S. album chart.
    
Tobymac also also earned the top spot on iTunes.
    
Meanwhile, the album "Gravity" by Christian Hip Hop artist LeCrae also topped iTunes this week.
    
The album is projected to sell 60,000 copies its first week.
