In the book Amazing Grace, author Eric Metaxas shared how William Wilberforce helped abolish the slave trade in Britain.
In his next book, Metaxas wrote about Dietrich Bonheoffer, the German pastor who tried to stop Adolf Hitler's murderous mission during World War II. Both books were best-sellers.
Now, in his latest book, Seven Men and the Secret to Their Greatness, Metaxas shares the stories of more great men, including George Washington, olympic runner Eric Liddell, baseball legend Jackie Robinson, Pope John Paul II, and Charles W. Colson.
"These are great men whose lives are worthy of emulation," Metaxas told Publisher's Weekly. "I am trying to answer the questions, 'What is a man? What is a great man? What is God's idea of a great man?' Faith is at the heart of what these men did and why they did it."
"I think this is an important issue, and I hope 'Seven Men' gets into young men's hands and into the larger conversation about who we want to emulate and why," Metaxas said.
Metaxes shared more about his new book on the April 30 editon of Newswatch.
