Newly released video from last year's attack on the Family Research Center in Washington allows the general public to see exactly what took place.
The footage shows building manager Leo Johnson wrestling Floyd Corkins to the ground and disarming him, even after sustaining a direct hit to the arm.
Corkins entered the building with a handgun and 100 rounds of ammunition.
During interrogation, he confessed he planned to kill as many people as possible at the conservative lobbying group.
Corkins explained to FBI investigators why he chose the Family Research Council.
"It was a…Southern Poverty Law lists anti-gay groups," Corkins explained. "I found them online. I did a little bit of research, went to the website, stuff like that."
Despite being associated in Federal Court with a domestic terrorism conviction, the Southern Poverty Law Center has refused to remove the Family Research Council from its "hate group" listing on the center's target map.
