Missouri AG Won't Appeal Birth Control Ruling

Ad Feedback

Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster said he will not appeal a federal appeals court's decision to strike down a state law exempting those with moral objections from Obamacare's birth control mandate.

He is, however, asking a judge to revise the ruling so religious organizations will have the same exceptions they have under federal law.

Last year, the Missouri legislature passed a law requiring insurers to issue policies that don't cover birth control if the buyers say they have moral, ethical or religious objections.

A federal judge ruled the law conflicts with the Obamacare mandate for birth control.
