More Young Women 'Shacking Up' before Marriage

More young women are choosing to live with their boyfriends before getting married, according to a survey by the Centers for Disease Control.

The CDC interviewed 12,000 women between 2006 and 2010.

Forty-eight percent of those asked said they lived with a man outside of wedlock, up from 34 percent in 1995.

Observers say more and more people are living together as a testing ground before marriage and about 40 percent of the women who lived with a man went on to marry him within three years.

CBN News spoke with Dr. Linda Mintle, author of "I Married You, Not Your Family" about this trend. Click on the player for her comments.
