Iowa Couple Threatened after Refusing Gay Nuptials

A Christian couple in Iowa has been receiving vicious threats for refusing to rent their business facility for a same-sex marriage. TheBlaze reports they're concerned their business could shut down.

Dick and Betty Odgaard own an art and framing flower shop in Grimes. A gay couple wanted to use it for their wedding, but the Odgaards refused because of their Christian convictions.

"We believe a marriage is between a man and woman," Betty told TheBlaze.

Dick added, "To us, it's a sacrament."

The couple then began receiving the threats, many of which were extremely vulgar.

The Odgaards say they have business associates, friends and former staff members who are gay and have nothing against them.

"I would serve them in every other way -- we simply don't want to take part … it just comes down to that final line of taking their vows in our facility," Betty said. "I do not hate these people and they have the right to do what they want to do under the law and in humanity."
