Does God really exist? It's a question top theologian William Lane Craig and leading scholar and atheist Alex Rosenberg matched wits over Friday in a debate at Indiana's Purdue University.
While the issue may be merely academic for some, for others the matter has far-reaching implications.
The event, sponsored by Symposia Christi, is already drawing international buzz, with thousands of people from at least 47 countries planning to stream the debate.
Approximately 5,000 were expected to attend in person.
The event was free of charge and open to the public. It was first streamed live Feb. 1. from 7-9:30 p.m. EST. It will also be available to watch again on Saturday, Feb. 2. For more information, visit this website.
