Regent University hosted a symposium focused on human trafficking, child welfare, adoption and juvenile justice, this past weekend.
Focus on the Family President Jim Daly, who was once in the foster care system himself, was the event's keynote speaker.
"God's heart is for the child. Forty eight times in scripture He says take care of the widow and the orphan," Daly said.
"I think when we do what we're talking about doing, what this weekend, a couple of days has been about, when we do these things the Lord delights in it," he continued.
"I think he smiles, when we who are so busy, us adults, take time to reach out and touch the most vulnerable," Daly said.
Regent University is working to mobilize Christians to be involved in the fight for human rights.
