Much of the country remains in an icebox today. Winter storm warnings were issued for parts of Maryland and Pennsylvania in the East and Colorado and New Mexico in the West.

The National Weather Service issued warnings about icy road conditions along the East Coast.

Colorado is expected to get anywhere from 10 to 20 inches of  heavy, blowing snow, and 8 to 12 inches of snow were expected to hit the northern moutains of New Mexico.

The weather service also issued watches for parts of Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa.
