At least four major fires are blazing across Colorado Wednesday morning. The worst is in the Black Forest area near Colorado Springs.
Thousands of people have been forced to evacuate and as many as 60 structures, including homes, have been damaged or destroyed.
Authorities say dry and windy conditions are fueling the blaze.
"Weather is not working with us right now, but our guys are giving it a heck of a shot," El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa said.
Officials estimate the Black Forest Fire has already burned around 8,000 acres. So far, it's 0 percent contained.
Meanwhile, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has authorized funds to help with the cost of fighting the fire.
Gov. John Hickenlooper said Tuesday, "There is nobody backing away and saying we're not going to attack this with everything that we've got."
