The pilot and a wing-walking stunt woman perished Saturday when their biplane crashed and burned while performing at an air show in Ohio.

Jane Wicker and her pilot, Charlie Schwenker, were performing at the 39th annual Vectren Dayton Air Show when the accident occurred, Reuters reported.

"Watch this, Jane Wicker sitting on top of the world," the announcer said just before the Boeing Stearman biplane crashed and exploded in frames before a horrified crowd.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board and local authorities are working together to determine the cause of the crash, which an FAA spokesman said could take from several months to a year.

Organizers said the show will resume on Sunday.
