Spring may have arrived, but a snow storm is hitting the central states and pushing east, enveloping western Virginia and Washington, D.C.
People as far west as Colorado are digging out Monday. Emergency crews say the weather may be to blame for at least two deaths in car crashes in Kansas and Missouri.
Meanwhile, there are winter weather watches in at least 15 states and the storm has even spawned severe weather. In Atlanta, strong winds blew a tree into an apartment building.
"I heard this cracking noise and it came tumbling down like London Bridge," one resident said.
St. Louis saw some of the highest snow fall with as much as 14 inches late Sunday.
