The name of Jesus is still being used in the opening prayer at city council meetings in Longview, Wash.

Last month, the mayor asked guest ministers to stop invoking Christ in their prayers because it could expose the city to lawsuits.

But at a recent meeting, a Baptist pastor used Jesus' name in his prayer, drawing a hearty "amen" from people who told the council they have a legal right to a Christian invocation.

The mayor then said the prayer will stay until council members can take formal action to remove it from meeting agendas.
