Fire crews in Southern California are desperately fighting to put out a massive wildfire that's burning out of control.
Fanned by the Santa Anna winds, the blaze is less than 10 percent contained.
"Once the wind shifts .. the embers go everywhere," one firefighter explained.
"Our idea is to hit it hard, hit it fast and keep it as small as possible," another fire crew member said.
At least a thousand firefighters are on the ground, but still homes, businesses and thousands of acres are being burnt in the flames.
''We just lost everything. The spa. Our cat. Everything is gone," one homeowner lamented.
The fast moving wildfire is threatening more than 2,000 homes. Experts say the threat could extend to the Southwest and Mountain states.
