A man with ties to one of the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing case was killed in a shootout with the FBI.
Twenty-seven-year-old Ibragim Todashev of Orlando, Fla., was under investigation about his relationship with bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev.
Police were questioning him in the apartment complex where he lived when he allegedly became violent.
In a statement, the FBI said their agent opened fire after Todashev came at the agent with a knife.
Todashev was reportedly an acquaintance of Tsarnaev, who was killed in a shootout with police after the April 15 bombings.
Friends said the two men allegedly knew each other through mixed martial arts fighting.
"Back when [Mr. Todashev[ used to live in Boston, they used to hang out - not hang out - he knew him. They met a few times because [Mr. Todashev]was a MMA fighter and [Tsarnaev] was a boxer. They just knew each other. That's it," Khusen Taramov, Tsarnarev's former roommate, told WESH-TV in Orlando.
Todashev was arrested earlier this month on a charge of aggravated battery after getting into a fight with two men over a parking space.
