Two children are among 19 people wounded after gunmen opened fire at a Mother's Day parade in New Orleans.
Ten men, seven women and a 10-year-old boy and girl were shot. The children were only grazed and are listed in good condition.
The shooting happened Sunday just before 2:00 p.m. a little more than a mile from the heart of the French Quarter. Cell phone video shows people treating the injured lying in the street.
Police said three men were seen fleeing the scene.
The social club called the Original Big 7" organized the parade to honor mothers.
"The specialness of the day doesn't appear to interrupt the relentless drumbeat of violence," Mayor Mitch Landrieu said at a news conference Sunday night.
Meanwhile, police are looking for the suspects as well as a motive for the shooting.
"We'll get them," Police Superintendent Ronal vowed. "We have good resources in this neighborhood,"
