Albuquerque to Vote on Late-Term Abortions

Ad Feedback

A proposed ban on late-term abortions is on the ballot in Albuquerque, N.M., Tuesday.

The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Santa Fe is urging Albuquerque parishioners to vote "yes" on the ban.

The Most Rev. Michael Sheehan said during a Sunday evening Mass that a vote for the ban would "say yes to the unborn child."

The measure blocks abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.

If it passes, the measure would close one of the few clinics in the country performing abortions in the third trimester of pregnancy.
