Lesbians File Complaint after Wedding Venue Denied

A lesbian couple in New York has filed a complaint against Christian business owners for refusing to book their wedding last year.

The New York Civil Liberties Union, representing the lesbian couple, said Liberty Ridge Farm is a business open to the public and subject to the state's anti-discrimination laws.

But a spokesman for the farm owners, Robert and Cynthia Gifford, said it's a private business on private property.

The owners believe marriage is "one man and one woman as in the Bible" and their constitutional freedom of religion trumps state law.
