Ball State Students Say Course Promotes Atheism

Ball State University in Indiana says it will review a class curriculum some students say promotes atheism. The students are in a club that calls for teaching intelligent design.

University President Jo Ann Gora said the review is to ensure the course curriculum meets high academic standards.

But John West, vice president of Discovery Institute, said he's concerned the university isn't treating all faculty fairly.

The Institute complained about the "Dangerous Ideas" honors course last month after Gora responded to an atheist organization's objection to another Ball State class.

She said that the teaching of intelligent design isn't appropriate for science courses.
