The Boston Red Sox are celebrating their third World Series title in a decade after beating the Saint Louis Cardinals 6-1 in game 6 at Fenway Park Wednesday night.
Just last winter Boston was considered the underdog, having finished last in the American League East in 2012.
Many fans say this is what they needed after the Boston Marathon bombing attacks this year.
The Red Sox wore "Boston Strong" logos on their left sleeves and dedicated the win to fans and victims of the marathon tragedy.
"This is for you, Boston. You guys deserve it," David Ortiz, the Series MVP, said. "We've been through a lot this year and this is for all of you and all those families who struggled."
