Some Colorado churches have suffered great losses from the flooding in the state.
The Bible Baptist Church of Erie was flooded three times in three days, but each time members of the congregation and strangers came together to help recover as much as they could from the muddy waters.
Pastor James Duncan said that over and over he has preached that the Church is not the building.
"The Church is the people and the heart and soul of people, and we can have church in the parking lot," he said.
Pastor Duncan emphasized that it doesn't matter where they meet, "Jesus is where two or three are gathered."
He also sees the floods and the congregation's resilience as a reminder of what Apostle Peter said: "The trial of our faith is more precious than gold."
And this trial is strengthening their faith. The pastor said he's been blessed by people who have showed up to help.
