The Cleveland man convicted of holding three women captive in his home for a decade has committed suicide.
Ariel Castro, 53, was found hanged in his jail cell in what authorities believe to be a suicide.
The former bus driver kidnapped Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry, and Gina DeJesus and imprisoned them -- sometimes restrained by chains.
Castro pleaded guilty to 937 counts, including kidnapping and rape. He was sentenced Aug. 1 to life in prison plus 1,000 years.
"You took 11 years of my life away, and I have got it back," Knight, the only one of the three women to appear at his sentencing, told Castro before a hushed courtroom. "I spent 11 years in hell. Now your hell is just beginning."
Ohio corrections officials say Castro was not under suicide watch. He was being held in protective custody.
