Ohio Activists Seek to Ban Sex Orientation Therapy

Ad Feedback

Gay rights activists are seeking to ban sexual orientation therapy in the heartland.

Lawmakers in Ohio are considering a bill that would bar counselors from helping youth under the age of 18 who want to change their same-sex attraction.

In August, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie signed a similar bill and California has passed one as well.

Liberty Counsel, a Christian legal aid group, is fighting to block both laws, saying they violate the First Amendment rights of counselors and patients.

Gay rights groups say the therapy harms young people.
