The new president of the South Baptist Convention public policy organization said the Bible belt is collapsing.
Rev. Russell Moore said Bible-believing Christians will increasingly be forced to choose whether they will follow God or the nation's leaders.
"We are not Americans first. We belong to another kingdom, and we will stand and speak for that kingdom," he said in a recent report in the Wall Street Journal.
But Moore said the loss of the so-called culture war in America could be good for the church.
"We are no longer the moral majority. We are a prophetic minority," he said.
Moore is the head of the SBC's Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission.
