Spring has been here for a couple of weeks already, but in some places across the nation winter is refusing to go away.

The plows and the snow shoes are back this week in parts of the Midwest. An April snowstorm has dumped more than a foot of snow on parts of Minnesota.

The heavy snow band stretching from central Minnesota into northwestern Wisconsin has created dangerous driving conditions.

Meanwhile, ice on Lake Michigan reached a new March record of 93.3 percent.

But there is hope for those digging their way out of the snow today. Highs may hit 60 in southwestern Minnesota by this weekend.
