Thousands of police officers and community members are expected to attend the funeral of a New York City policeman killed with his partner in an ambush shooting.

The funeral Saturday at a Queens church for Officer Rafael Ramos comes one week after he and Officer Wenjian Liu were killed in their patrol car.

Mayor Bill DeBlasio and Vice-President Joe Biden are expected to deliver remarks.

On Friday, thousands of officers from across the country attended an eight-hour wake for Ramos.

The 40 year-old married father of two was described as a compassionate man.  His commanding officer said he kept Bible study books in his locker.

Gunman Ismaaiyl Brinsley had posted online about high-profile killings of unarmed black men by police.  He killed himself after the shooting.
