A nonprofit group in the Netherlands, called "Just," is asking people to give up Facebook for  approximately three months.

The group made its move after word got out about a controversial Facebook experiment in which it made changes to some users' news feeds to see how it would affect their mood.

So the Dutch group decided to do an experiment on its own to see how people would feel after being off the social media site for 99 days.

Their campaign, launched earlier this week, is called "." It challenges Facebook users to take a summer break from the popular social networking page.

The people at "Just" say it's not a protest. But they think there can be emotional benefits from using it in moderation.

"Facebook is an incredible platform, we're all fiercely loyal users and we believe that there's a lot to love about the service," Merijn Straathof, art director at "Just," said. "But we also feel that there are obvious emotional benefits to moderation."

If the average user spends approximately 17 minutes a day on Facebook, he or she will have gained 28 hours to pursue other interests over the summer.
